After a one-year break, the Eurodance trophy came
back to Eastern Europe thanks to Bulgaria's first
victory. The winning song "Leden Svyat", a catchy mix of
folk sounds and modern dance rhythms, received top
marks by two thirds of the jury members and placed
first with 67 points more than the
second placed song, the Norwegian hit "Vil Ha Dig".
A record number of 36 Countries
took part in this edition, with three newecomers: the Principality of
Liechtenstein, that placed 9th with "Das L icht"
by Chris, Slovakia with the pop group P.S. and Ukraine, represented by one of
the most popular artists of the Country, Ani Lorak.
